Description
Black Jack is a very popular type of aniseed flavour chew. They are manufactured under the Barratt brand in the UK. In the 1920s Trebor Bassett manufactured them, and the wrapper showed a (now banned!) gollywog on it. If you’re in London – pop into the V&A Museum of Childhood and they have an example of the old style wrappings!
Barrett’s have now made Black Jacks suitable for vegetarians. They contain no artificial colourings or flavourings.
